Do you know Irish New York St Patrick’s Day shirt? Yes, I’m Irish. And no, I don’t drink! I still love St. Patrick’s Day, and I’m excited to celebrate my heritage in a safe, sober way. One of the things that really worried me about recovery was whether or not I’d be able to have fun. My addiction was incredibly isolating, but all the same, I worried: will I be able to feel like I fit in, if I’m sober? After three years of recovery, I’m happy to say that my St. Patrick’s Day spirit is stronger than ever. I’ll be carrying Narcan and keeping an eye out for people who need help. Mostly, I’m planning to celebrate sober today: lots of friends, gratitude, and time with my dog. May the luck of the Irish be with you!

I’ve got the Irish Virus too and happy to have not had a drink or drug for 33 years. Went to a meeting today and heard a guy with 6 days struggling because it was St. Patricks Day! Feeling blessed.God bless you I know your family is thankful and you are too it takes a while to adjust so my brother had a little difficulty couldn’t go around his friends that he used to hang around because they were influence on him I wish you all the luck in the world. In exactly one month I’ll have 15 years sobriety behind me. I felt that same way about being able to fit in with my crowd. Turned out very few of those good time Charlie types were part of my true posse. Congrats Ryan on finding your way through that maze we call addiction.
