Over the weekend, Hampton Roads lost a long-time LGBTQ+ ally, advocate, supporter and friend, Tommy Pruitt. The Pruitt family, especially Tommy and his late daughter Anne Marie Pruitt impacted the lives of so many in our community. On behalf all of us at LGBT Life Center, we send our deepest sympathies to the entire Pruitt Family and The Wave. Thank you Tommy for being an ally that we will never forget. Rest in Peace. Thank you for all the great memories and conversations. I wish I could be there to say my goodbyes. You will surely be missed. Friends of the Pruitt family, keep this in heart. Our friends and families may leave us. But don’t let it get you down. We will all be together again one day. This is not forever, it’s just for now.

Codii was an absolutely amazing and beautiful soul who had so much life to give others. He stood up for all LGBT+ partners and was an AMAZING activist for Trans Rights in the workplace. He was a great support system to those who needed it, and he always knew how to make others laugh. In groups like the ones I’m a part of, you begin to learn so many nuances about a person. LGBT Hippie sunflower Imagine all the people living life in peace shirt. What they like, how they type, the types of posts they respond to. You start tagging them in memes you know they’d enjoy. You think of them subconsciously. Today, Codii lost a long and hard battle with his internal demons. My heart is so broken because I know just how bright of a light the world has lost today.
