Side Story: The nurses were surprised when the group showed up, they were gonna kick them out, cuz the hospital has never had a grupo play for the patients, that day they made an exception and allowed them to play 2 songs, my grandpas smile made it all worthwhile. Too much work, too much stress .No time to eat or pee but I still go back for more why because I’m an RN and God made me to make a difference to our patients and families. Nursing is more than a profession it’s a calling by our Lord to care and put others before ourselves and give them dignity in a difficult time in life. God bless all those called.

It is a vocation, a calling. We are his hands, his voice… we allow his spirit to guide us as much as our knowledge and experience. That’s the sixth sense and instinct we carry along with us everywhere. We are all this and so much more… but I wish medicine would go back to being about people and healing. About doing what’s best for the patient with staffing and not the bottom line. On the 8th day god made a nurse and the devil stood at attention. The bottom line will never be fixed until we care about who matters most, and that answer is not simple. It’s not a fast fix either. However, once done, it will work.
I have in all my life, personally or professionally, ever heard such beautiful words expressing the nurses. I spent 45 years using my mind and hands to care for my patients. I know God was with me . Even when outcomes didn’t come the way I had wanted. Then I realized I was being taught valuable lessons of life to help my next patient. On the 8th day god made a nurse and the devil stood at attention. I disagree that female nurses are more compassionate than male. Being a female nurse myself and recently hospitalized I found my male nurses to be equal to the females with regards to skill and empathy.
