Rolling Stone 57th Anniversary thank you for the memories shirt now available. Bruce’s guitar sound was a raw, beautiful thing. Finally got on air last night w Jim Rotolo. Thank you for the memorie. Great show, great community of fans and great entertainer and band. That’s a great concert. I have it in bootleg, not sure if I’ll spring for the cleaned up version but if you don’t have the bootleg, I strongly recommend this show.

When I was growing up in the Sixties, to me, Disneyland was America condensed in a theme park. Given the recent Fourth of July carry ons about the Totalitarian style parade in the Mall, I thought this would be relevant to post. America is probably one of the best countries in the world, which encompasses the stirring, lump in the throat, flag waving, George M Cohen style of patriotism, particularly in anthemic rousing songs.


This classic song celebrating America was written in 1940 by Woody Guthrie, just prior to the time that the modern world endured its universal loss of innocence following the horrors of Auschwitz and Enola Gay. Rolling Stone 57th Anniversary, This version is a much-loved track from one of the several legendary concerts recorded in Carnegie Hall, of which, concerts by Benny Goodman and Judy Garland are just two fine examples. It was a time when were no Bic lighters being hold in the air or, more importantly, no illuminated light of mobile phone screens held aloft videoing everything regardless.
