Yes, that’s Rooster Chicken I am currently unsupervised but the possibilities are endless shirt. My Bresse hen is now named Christmas. Sometimes they have to fall into their names. (Or be terrorized into it). Not to worry, she is completely fine and doesn’t have a scratch on her. But she had a rough morning. Rooster has been getting more and more unsupervised time with the chickens… an hour here and there as everything has been going well…. until today when he decided to love and cuddle Christmas. She was not into it… at all. Rooster was corrected and the bird was brought in the house to get over her fright. She slept a good part of the day and was feeling fine by evening.

Last week Daisy got 3 more of our chickens in the past they got scared and had a heart attack. This time she decided to eat them. I was so heartbroken and as a chicken mommy embarrassed and guilty because it was my fault. I didn’t watch her. Daisy was unsupervised and she is a dog. I should have protected them better. I went through so many emotions and sadness. When I opened the door she had the third in her mouth. Dominic the mean rooster. She dropped him. He was gasping for air and his comb and wattle were blue.

You could hear the rattle as he tried to breathe. I am happy to report that after a few days in the garage he is back out with the rest of the flock. He has been through a trauma (I can’t imagine) and his ego too. The first day or so he wouldn’t even come out of the coup. He has started coming back out but his feathers are down and you can tell he isn’t himself. As Rooster Chicken I am currently unsupervised but the possibilities are endless shirt. But he is eating, and not attacking us (I guess that part is good) and one day I am hoping he will crow again. Poor boy. Fly high Mary Kate (she was the other one at the fair too.

Love Rooster Chicken story
Today we start the first week of the ten weeks of summer. The purpose of this series will be to describe not the plight but the flight of the farmers. You will see the determination each has to provide food for not only themselves but all of the consumers. Each week a farmer will be featured giving us a glimpse of their life, the type of farming they do, some interesting, even funny situations they have encountered through the years. There will even be some strong opinions on todays issues.

We will have dairy, vegetable, mushroom, beef and sheep farmers. All ready to add some information that should answer questions that many people never ask. Farmers Market people will add some insight of the efforts it takes to come to the market and the kind of products most requested. Lets get started with our first farmer, Bob Pedersen. It would be safe to say he has seen more than most, in his 92 years they have been spent mainly on the same piece of property. His life of farming started in Evart, a part of Osceola County.
