JUST IN: An Augusta Police Officer and Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Deputy have been placed on paid administrative leave, per department policy. If he didn’t have a gun or knife on him then there is no reason to use deadly force when there are two officers present. The thing is mental health and cognitive disorders play a role in that whole resisting arrest on a moment’s warning. Unless they are threatening the cops with a weapon it’s a different story. I seen people get pulled over for an OWI and have 5 squads there to assist… These officers new this man wasn’t all there at the moment so why was there not more back up officers involved?? Something sounds fishy to say the least. And we all know how honest Augusta offices are.

Ok so it’s ok for cops to use non equal force but a home owner cant protect themselves with out checking to make sure he is within the laws again cos are above the law seams once or twice a year EC police do good for the community with their shop with a cop and the one community day they put on wooohooo. I know the family of the victim, some of you people on here posting have no respect. The story that the pubic has is a very short one at the moment. Please don’t assume anything until proven facts are made public.

It worries me that our community police were not skilled enough to control a situation with someone experiencing a psychotic break without using lethal force. I’m glad there are multiple agencies investigating this. This man needed help, he needed psychiatric treatment, he did not need death. Non-lethal didnt work. So he must not have had a weapon. If he did the officers wouldn’t have used non-lethal they would have had their weapons drawn. Maybe I’m wrong but I doubt it. Let’s see body cam footage. Here let’s clear this up. During the struggle they tried less than lethal means. Didn’t work sooooo let’s say during the fight the suspect tried to grab the officers firearms. At that moment the officer or officers are legally allowed to use lethal force. Wisconsin state law on use of lethal force. There are three factors that allow lethal force. One is the officers life or the suspect posed imminent threat to officer or others. Play stupid games with law enforcement get shot. That simple!
