SHALLOWS : Are you happy in this modern world, do you need more, is there something else you’re looking for, in all the good times I find myself longing for change.” Love that song , loved the movie. As I began to really listen to the words, realized how indicative the truth of those lyrics are for so many. Why is it? What resides within their inner souls that keeps them from true happiness and fulfillment. Having the best of this material world yet unfulfilled. May I suggest it is that inner light placed there by your loving creator waiting for your acknowledgement and restoration to His kingdom. Proverbs 20:27 : “ The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord”.

Someone who pays attention to every single word you say in a conversation. Someone who doesn’t run away when things fall apart. And someone who appreciates the little things you do for them. Love someone with a deep soul. Someone who writes you handwritten letters every time they want to let you know that you are loved and appreciated, someone who proves their words through their actions, someone who still applies conservative traditions in their relationships because they believe that those conventional practices will make their bond with you last longer. I saw A Star is Born when it came out. I loved it. And now I’m consistently hearing the song Shallow on the radio. I love these lyrics because I think they represent something we all desperately want, but have, to some degree, lost in the social media era. I would encourage you to invest in the deep, the solid, and let the shallow either grow into depth or become something you left behind in 2018. I’m off the deep end, watch as I dive in. I’ll never meet the ground. Crash through the surface, where they can’t hurt us. We’re far from the shallow now.
