Case in point. We have a NO TRESSPASSING marked shared driveway. Not one sign but 7 before you get to a gate. The gate was left open for a delivery but is still obviously a gate with a chain. Today I come home from town knowing the delivery had been made so I closed and locked the gate behind myself. As I’m about to turn down to our house I see something down the drive near the swimming hole. Honestly it looked like a bag of trash or something so I went to investigate. It was a car backed down the pull off for the beach. Thinking it was a kid we’ve given permission to fish I parked in front of the car to find the driver and tell them how to get back out as the lock was just changed.
I had my 9mm in my hand inside my pocket safety off just in case it wasnt who I thought it was or I came across the local wildlife. After walking around a bit searching the banks for a fisherman and the water for a bobber I turned around to walk back to my rig. Out of nowhere a man I’ve never seen before with a gun over his shoulder appeared. Between me and my car. Show me your bobbers I’ll show you my pole shirt. Of course he was “just checking the creek to pan for gold and knew someone I’ve never heard of that lived here 5 yrs ago” 1st of all no pan, 2ed he didnt come from the direction of the creek and 3rd I’ve heard lots of names in relation to our 3 neighbors but never that one.
