I love that Some people spend their whole lives trying to be awesome others are born Norwegian shirt. I have come to the end of this adventure and have thoroughly enjoyed my journey… even the not-so-good parts because, without them, the good bits wouldn’t have seemed so great. A few of my observations about Europe… I loved the people. It didn’t matter what language you spoke or which country you come from, the majority are very friendly and helpful to an Aussie tourist. There is a lack of bugs. They were at their worst in northern Norway but they, still, were nowhere near as bad as at home.

I don’t know if Europeans realise how good their motorcycling is. Except for Norway, you have so many route options available to you. You could spend a lifetime touring on a motorcycle and not go on the same road twice. There is a lack of road kill. A lot of places in Australia you would see 3 or 4 dead kangaroos every kilometre. I don’t ride before 8am in the morning or after about 5pm at home because it’s too dangerous with all the wildlife about….It was good to not have to worry about such things for a few months. My highlights….

Who was born Norwegian?
The biggest stand-out for me was Norway. If you only had the chance to take one trip in the rest of your life, it should be a tour of this spectacular, friendly and awe-inspiring country. I can’t pick out a favourite bit, I loved every second of my time there. I found the Norwegians to be among the friendliest and down-to-earth people I have ever met. Some people spend their whole lives trying to be awesome others are born Norwegian shirt. There is the awesome landscapes everywhere you look and everywhere you go. Then there was the motorcycling….You don’t need a bike to tour Norway but I found that doing it on a bike it became much more than just riding the roads (which were among the best I’ve ridden).

It became a spiritual experience as well. It felt as though the machine and I became one and we shared the experience together. I’m sure you know what I mean when I say motorcycles take you to different places both physically and metaphorically, to quote the name of a recent documentary, that’s Why We Ride. These other places also stood-out for various reasons…. Luxembourg – This was a big surprise. A very beautiful and great motorcycling country. Austria – I loved this country for its great roads and its beauty. My one regret from this tour is that I didn’t spend enough time in one of the world’s most beautiful countries.
