Sunflower and pink pig shirt now available for all you pink pig lovers. We came to the pink pig for my sons 2nd birthday in May and he and his friends got to plant a sunflower seed- ours has finally opened! As you can tell by the picture he’s really happy with it. That’s amazing! It’s grown beautifully and we love how cheeky our son looks. Day 7 River Murray boring : never. Pristine day today with glass conditions all day. It has been like viewing life in a reflection from on the water. The river changes so many times from 60 metres wide to what seems like a backwater where I’m weaving thru fallen trees again. If it wasn’t for the blue kilometre signs it would be hard to believe it’s the same river.

Those blue signs: I don’t want to wish the kilometres away but they get me excited – call it my guilty pleasure. Lots of willows now and the bull rushes, bamboo, pampas grass and blackberry have all taken bank priority. Still there are many sandy beaches in between and plenty of campers to enjoy them. Spotted a fully grown pink pig (yes it was) on the bank having a drink but the story of the day goes to the black swans. Having chatted with a couple while passing they gave me a guard of honour for the next 3 hours.

When I doubted my way thru the left/right possibilities they guided me on. Finally they flew off having met 2 new swans and and shortly after I became lost in the backwater maze. As I came to the end of a backwater 2 swans appeared and swam, honking toward a sliver between the reads. I left it to trust and in the 1 metre gap I pushed my kayak 3 metres thru. Or a Sunflower and pink pig shirt. As I came out the other end the river opened up with a blue kilometre sign directly to my right. I have no explanation for this.

Sunflower and pink pig
One day the pig farm received a visit from the Princess Olivia of Sweden, alone, without her guard or entourage. Anybody driving past on that quiet morning on the pot-holed, narrow road on the fringes of the forest would have seen a sleek black Jaguar bounce painfully into the farm yard. They may have seen an Old Man in a tatty old coat emerge from a barn and glare sullenly at a beautiful, tall blonde girl emerging from the car, and turn his back on her, and shuffle slowly back into the barn and disappear into the shadows, leaving in his wake an unmistakable and unpleasant “aroma”.

Jasmin Drugov emerged from the back of the house, wiping her hands on an old apron and pushing a lock of shocking blue/black hair out of her eyes. She hastened towards the Princess, who noticed her hair had been hacked short. The smell lingered, each breath of stale wind brought the odour from the barn towards them. The Old Man was hidden in the shadows, but he was there, watching, listening. Any passerby would then have seen two girls leave the yard and walk slowly along the lonely road, one beautiful and well-dressed, the other also beautiful but dirty, in an old blue dress. As they walked they talked, their heads close together….
