Did you know that I did not drink a cup of coffee until I was 31- years-old? I had it that it was a bad habit because my mom drank 3-5 cups a day and it really contributed to her fatigue. But then I met Alan and he showed me the sunny side of coffee. It lights up my brain like no other substance. I feel smarter, more focused and positive on the days that I drink it but here is the thing. A study recently shared that athletes use caffeine daily, it does nothing to increase performance. For people who are not daily consumers, the lift really does improve performance. It also reduces insulin resistance and gallstones.
So I prevent burnout and increase my mental focus but only using coffee a few days a week. I use it when it really matters. When I need my brain to function on all cylinders or I want to have a breakthrough in my training. The rest of the time I double down on Yoga for recovery. Like “Shut Duh Fuh Cup”.
