As of today, Girls Wrestling became a sanctioned sport in the State of Kansas. Congratulations to all who made this possible! This would not be a reality without you’re relentless effort and support to grow the sport! Cassie is currently in her Junior year at Colerain High School, in Cincinnati, and is a member of the Cardinals wrestling team. Throughout the season, she wrestled with both the school’s JV and Varsity squads.

She first started in the sport in the 3rd grade when she began attending her brother’s practices. Cassie told her dad that she thought she could beat the boys and asked to join. Touch Down Lovin’, Defense Yellin’, Team Supportin’ Ohio State girl. After he told her yes, the first thing she wanted to know was… “do the shoes come in different colors?” Cassie has been a member of Shore Sports, in Saint Paris, for the last six years. She has also taken on private instruction from Coach Jeff Byrd to help enhance her freestyle abilities.

One thing you will instantly notice about Cassie at events, is that she is all in on Team Ohio. She is a big sister to so many of your younger girls and is always there to support them. She is currently studying sports medicine at Butler Tech, and hopes to continue her wrestling career in college, eventually becoming an athletic trainer. Cassie is currently ranked #14 at 138lbs in the National Girls High School Wrestling Rankings that are published by USA Wrestling, FloWrestling and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum.
